Class Spotlights
Looking to break up your workout routine this summer? Stop in and check out a group fitness class! Classes are a great way to stay motivated and enthused in a group setting. If you are looking for a high intensity conditioning class, try Summer Sports Conditioning with Cindy or Beth on Mondays and Wednesdays; this class is a great compliment to your summer workout regimen and will not only provide a great cardio workout, but can also help to prevent injury during your outdoor activities.

If you would like to find a class that is efficient and effective, as well as easy to fit into your schedule, check out the Abs for Athletes class on Tuesday evenings. This class is specifically designed to tighten, tone, and strenghten your core in only 30 minutes. If you have been neglecting those abs lately during your routine, this class is an incredible workout in only a half hour- you can't beat that!

If yoga is more up your alley, or even better, if you haven't yet experienced the world of yoga, come by and try a class! We offer many different styles of yoga at times ranging from early morning through late evening, so we are sure to have one that will fit your schedule. As many of us already know, yoga is an incredibly beneficial compliment to any fitness level or training style and can become just as important as any facet of your workout. For those of you who are brand new to yoga, don't forget about the Intro to Yoga class this month on July 11th from 2-3 p.m.

Lastly, if you are outside taking advantage of the weather , don't forget about the FAC Cycling Club. The Club meets on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, and has become a super group of fun-loving riders; come join the fun! For more information about the rides, check out our website.

Racquet Sports
How many times have you walked past the racquetball courts and wondered about giving the game a try? Have you noticed members playing squash, and wondered what exactly the game is or how it is different from racquetball? Been thinking of picking up a tennis racquet again? We invite you to come by and try something new next time you are in! The summer months are an ideal time to try out one of these phenonenal sports because the courts are not in high demand, as they can be during the winter.

Racquet sports are not only extremely fun, but a great way to mix up your cardio workouts. Racquetball is a game that most of us are familiar with, and it is easy to pick up and learn. Squash is one of the highest intesity cardio workouts of any sport or activity, and while it may seem daunting or foreign, it is actually very easy to learn the rules and basic techniques. If you just want to practice hitting some tennis balls before getting into some pick up matches, don't forget to take advantage of the club's tennis ball machines which are a terrific way to practice and be tailored to be as easy or difficult as you like!

Stop by or call the front desk to reserve a court time, and try something different! We have all types of equipment for you to borrow, including racquets, balls, and eyewear at no charge, and you can reserve a court up to a day in advance. You can also stop by one of our 'challenge night's' for racquetball or squash, and learn the game from members who have already discovered how great these sports are! Or if you are interested in private lessons, we have excellent instructors for all of these sports; stop by the front desk to learn more about setting up private instruction.

FAC Staff Focus
The summer of 2010 has seen many new and exciting changes for the staff here at the Club: Jose, one of our incredible cleaning and maintenance staff had his second child on June 3rd- a son named Jake who weighed 7lbs. 14oz. Laurie Wallace, our Membership Director, also had her second son on June 18th. His name is Emmett, and he weighed 6lbs. 5oz. . General Manager Nick Boshinski and his wife Amanda had their first child on June 11th. They had a little boy named Elliot who weighed 6 lbs. 14oz. We are happy to announce that all children were born healthy and happy and we are very excited for all of their parents! Jose, Laurie, and Nick are all incredibly happy and proud, but don't be surprised to see them looking a little more exhausted than usual!

In addition to the newest family additions, Membership Representative Bo Touchon will be married this summer, on July 3rd! Bo and his fiancee Dina (who also helps out at the Club part time) are getting very excited about the big day, and everyone here at the Club wishes them the very best as they start their new life together!

Note from the Owners
We hope that you are all enjoying the summer at the Club as much as we are! As you are almost all certainly aware, we have made some changes recently to our circuit training equipment, as well as our free weight area. We are very excited about all of the new pieces both upstairs and down, and we hope that you find the layout of the free weight area both functional and enjoyable. We will continue to make changes and improvements around the Club as effeciently as possible. On that note, we will be closing for our annual cleaning and maintenance the week of August 23rd. We are currently in the process of determining the duration of our closure, as it is heavily dependant on coordinating the necessary labor. As soon as we have firm dates we will make an announcement, but we are looking at between 3-5 days, as we have done in the past.

It has always been our philosophy to manage the Club by staying as active as possible within the facility. We love being around our members, and very sincerely appreciate the feedback that we receive from all of you. As we continue to make changes, we realize that everyone has a different opinion and we welcome them all. Don't hesitate to approach us with any ideas or suggestions; everyone has a different perspective and it is always beneficial to us to hear as many as possible. We truly want you to feel that your opinion is valid and will be heard, which is why we are so happy to be here every day. We hope to hear from you soon!

P.S. Don't forget to join us for our legendary July 4th BBQ at the pool! We have great deals on food and drinks, and some games for the kids that will be lots of fun!! See you there.

Yours in Health,
Jens and Keith
